The masterbatch dispersion tester allows a polymer-based mixture containing a certain concentration of pigment to flow through an extruder equipped with a melt pump and a filter screen component supported by a porous plate. A melt pressure sensor is installed at the front end of the filter screen component. The difference between the starting pressure (test base material) and the maximum pressure measured by the sensor after the melt pump and before the small screen component is the filter pressure value (FPV). Its size is used to characterize the dispersion effect of the masterbatch. The smaller the FPV value, the better the dispersion.
